runner_1The services provided by FTC include individual consultations, mental health assessment, psychological debriefing, team consultation, training and competition support as well as psychological recovery.

Two key roles of a sport and performance psychologist are to provide athletes with the understanding of how to achieve their optimal performance state and equipping them with psychological skills to perform in their chosen environment.

Our approach is holistic towards performance success. We strive to help our clients have the ability to understand their own individual psychological functioning and to equip them with their own self-awareness to identify when change or fine tuning is required and skills need to be adapted under pressure.

FTC utilise evidence-based frameworks, including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness, to provide psychological interventions that contribute to performance success and sustaining good mental health.

We don’t reinvent the wheel,
we refine it!

Performance Enhancement

Given the complexity and demands of the performance environment, successful peak performance is achieved through targeting a range of psychological factors to allow for the automatic execution of both physical and psychological tasks.

Mental skills training is important to help match the unique demands of performance and we make sure these skills fit into an individual’s overall psychological functioning. We also understand the need to consolidate these skills both on and off the sporting field.
